Okay so a lot of people have asked what was going on when I hurt myself, and there's been some mix-ups in the story so I figured I would lay it out here for ya. I was falling a limb about 25-30 ft up and my flip line or buck strap was around the tree that the limb was coming off of and I was tied(life line or main line) into a neighboring tree. The limb that I was cutting did not snap off it just kept peeling down the tree and when it did that it caught my buck strap and pulled me down and since my legs were spiked into the tree with my gaffs it just folded my leg over like it was nothing. My right upper and lower leg were parallel to each other touching. So after I got myself freed from that mess I had to repel back down to the ground shed my gear and gaffs at the bottom of the tree and crawl to the car. .. also at least I had the state of mind to take off my chainsaw pants and my boots so nothing was getting cut off of me but I'll tell you what.. It was not a warm day that day so waiting for the ambulance in my underwear sitting on the ground wasn't fun.. The only thing that was keeping my leg on was the skin itself. It tore everything else free and I had to borrow from my left leg to try and put my right leg back together. So, yeah.. fun fun..
