Just like that, this hackberry has been made 100% safer. With large trees this close to vital structures such as a well house, it’s important to factor risk. With a nearby tree of the same species failing, and this one having tip die back, it was better to be safe than sorry.

When a dying tree is positioned over a structure, there isn’t much room for error. 🌳

This pecan had reached the point where leaving it standing meant allowing a growing hazard to remain over the property.

With the bucket truck positioned alongside the climber, our crew was able to work together and carefully piece the tree down — controlling each section and keeping the surrounding structures protected.

This is more than just cutting a tree down. It’s about understanding the tree, the hazards around it, and having the right equipment and experience to do the job safely.

What started as a tree trim quickly turned into a removal. 🌳

Once we got into the trunk, we found a significant decay pocket that wasn’t obvious from the outside. The tree can look perfectly healthy on the surface while the inside tells a completely different story.

Here’s Dillon working his way through the trunk — and you can see just how hollow the wood was in the pieces coming down.

This is why having experienced eyes on your trees matters. Sometimes the biggest problems are the ones you can’t see from the ground.
