Easy access with hard floor surfaces. Available products include flowering annuals and vegetable plants in packs and pots, potted accent plants, hanging baskets, planters, soil free potting mixes, and packaged seeds.

The Flower Trough LLC will soon be open! It's been a long couple years since SFA Greenhouse retired forcing our devoted customer family to look elsewhere for their annual fix of yard and garden plants. It was always a moment of joy and excitement to see new and familiar faces wandering the aisles in search of that something they didn't know they had to have. It's been a journey. The new owners had to do everything from deconstructing our greenhouses to relocating and erecting them to picking out a name for their operation even before planting their first seed or potting the first plant. We hope you will follow their page to learn more. A mapquest search will bring up their address and location. Remember, SFA Greenhouse is no longer in operation and The Flower Trough LLC has only purchased our structures and supply inventory, moving them to a new location about 5 miles closer to Wausau where they will soon be open to homeowners and the gardening community. We wish them the best of luck on this rewarding journey! We miss you all!

Two years have passed since announcing our retirement and closing of our greenhouse. We've seen a couple replacements sprout up in the area and maybe you've had the opportunity to be a patron to one of them. It takes a certain amount of boldness and bravery to open your life with a family run business, many hiccups along the way. Sometimes we meet an obstacle which turns out to be for our own good and sometimes it forces us to work harder for what seems to come easy for others. At this time, we can safely say the family which purchased our greenhouse structures have committed to being open in the spring of 2023 after two long years of dreaming, planning, and working to be something our community can be proud of. Reluctantly, concessions had to be made on many aspects of their vision, and there is much work yet to be accomplished before they are ready to announce to the public details of their greenhouse name, location, and offering. Business owners know all too well how even little things can make major disruptions. We will pass along more information as the spring greenhouse season approaches. We wish you and yours a happy and prosperous new year!

As the days march towards planting season, thwarted by repeated blasts of cold air, snow, and ice, we wonder what the robins and red wing blackbirds were thinking to travel to such a hostile environment. Many of us are also thinking about our own little plot of heaven - our garden and wondering if it will be an easy or difficult season. Many have asked about the new owners of our greenhouse structures, where and/or if they will be open this spring and since we've not heard otherwise, the answer is no despite the efforts put forth.
Sometimes that which does not come easy is appreciated more and hopefully the delay works out for the better. Here's hoping.

When we announced retirement you wished us well. You sent cards, letters, and congratulatory messages. We want to acknowledge all who've done so and supported S F A Greenhouse throughout the years. We thank you! We hope your children and your children's children will discover the enjoyment found in nurturing a garden seed from planting to harvest or the thrill of finding a flower not seen before and sharing this joy with others. We had hoped when we closed our business it would be a matter of simply moving the structures and supply inventory to a new location where new owners could continue what many viewed as a service to the community. Times change. New rules go into effect. The move was completed with the help of many hands, but obstacles persist. Change is sometimes for the better but only time will tell. We hope the path 2022 takes us on will contain fewer hoops to jump through, be more bountiful, and fill our lives with more joy than ever. Have a happy and prosperous new year!

Today we don't see our shadow, only a reflection. Somewhere over the rainbow is a family with dreams of warm greenhouses filled with scents reminiscent of a tropical garden at a time when Marathon County gardeners can't wait for green grass and swallows' arrival. Coming in the spring of 2022 a new family run greenhouse will open at a location not too far from where SFA Greenhouse grew for 25 seasons. Having agreed to purchase all of our structures and supply inventory as a package, it will take all of 2021 for the new owners to prepare for a future we hope is as rewarding for them as it was for us. A year may seem like a long time, but good things shouldn't be rushed and they want to be ready for what awaits. Stay tuned for more details. I know we can't wait!
