At 5pm on June 30th Michael and Sue Abbott took the open flag down for the last time. It’s been such a pleasure and a bit of hard work to provide landscape service and plants to the Washtenaw County area for 40 years. We will miss our many customer-friends and wish to thank you for letting us help you improve your world.

Owner Jim Summers & Kim Mayes of Human Electric Hybrids picking up their Kousa Dogwood from Abbott's Nursery.
Jim told me he can load up to 300 pounds on the trailer.
We were very excited to watch this low environmental impact means of transportation application.
Thank you Jim and Kim you made my day.

WATER YOUR NEW PLANTS, including any installed in the last two years.
Digging deep holes for trees has made it clear the soil is as dry as July. When soil drops below 20% moist you will have root loss. Spring is leaf-out and growth time, dry roots will not keep up with the plants potential to thrive.
UNDER THE BEST OF CONDITIONS, a 2"Rain (rare) will only reach the the top 4" of your soil or rootball. New plants need direct hose watering.
I should note even long established plants benefit from frequent watering during dry times. If you are not wanting to water established plants you should only be shopping for, and installing drought tolerant plants.
When it comes to having a beautiful garden the first thing I say is "Just add water"
