I hope the off season affords you the opportunity to research and get to know the bugs in your gardens. This winter, I’m spending time compiling a list with all the pictures I took of new species that have been spotted in my own gardens- I’m learning so much & can’t wait to learn more! And, who knows who will show up next season! The benefits of being a chemical free, organic garden!

In the ‘off season’ there is time for playing with color rendered from nature herself 💛 turmeric produces a cheery yellow dye & Ginkgo leaves from the farm provide beautiful silhouettes 💛 Avocado pits produce a beautiful hue of pink, and lend a naturally soft color to stark white towels 🥑 these expirements are a fun way to extend the season through the Winter months and bring the outdoors in - isn’t nature awesome?!

Mid October and still have loads of Lavender & even some Stock! Can’t believe it - I will harvest *most* of the Lavender, but there’s still pollinators flitting about, so I’ll leave some for them ♥️ after all, they’re the whole reason I have so much success in the gardens!

Exploring gardens in upstate New York has been such a treat- when we are traveling, I am always excited when there’s time for a stroll- and it’s so fun to see how other gardens are designed & curated ♥️ my Grace Gardens tip for anyone who enjoys gardening & travel? Take the time to study gardens wherever you are - you’ll gain so much inspiration & joy!

Did you know it takes over 6 weeks just to infuse oil to use in other body care products? Here at , lavender is grown chemical free & organically, hand harvested, dried for a minimum of two weeks before ever being separated from stems and stored til ready to use. Then, when ready to infuse an oil, the lavender is placed in a jar with organic oil to extract the healing & soothing properties from the lavender to make a ‘base’ oil for balms, salves, soaps & more! This process takes a minimum of four weeks! Processing lavender takes patience & time - but the end product will be worth it! This batch is going into a soothing skin healing balm for Winter Market, which is in November! I take pride and such care when planning what items will be made and featured in each market- immense planning and forethought goes into each piece of handcrafted goodness that has Grace Gardens’ name on it - you can rest assured this is not ‘fast production’ - this is slow, steady, patient work - and it’s a work of my heart! 💜

I continue to be absolutely blessed each time I’m at market in Peaceful Valley- I meet so many of you & it’s always fun to see what you pick out & gravitate towards when purchasing - I love being a part of Vintage Barn Market, it’s truly a privilege to be here! September market is in the books! Thank you so much for the continued support & encouragement- to know my pieces are gracing your homes and being given as gifts is such a true joy! - y’all fill my cup up!
