⭐️A Quick Overview of AB2926 & AB2756⭐️
AB 2926
Will establish an advisory committee which will be determined by the Superintendent of public schools. This advisory committee does not have any restrictions as to what they are allowed to investigate and isn't even required to have anybody with expertise in homeschooling (real homeschoolers and state homeschooling organizations) on the committee. Eggman and staff claim they will, but we encourage everyone to read between the lines.
This committee will “advise” the superintendent and board of education (PUBLIC SCHOOL) who will ultimately “make recommendations to the Legislature and the Governor relating to imposing additional requirements on home schools.
These requirements shall include, but are NOT LIMITED TO, all of the following:
(1) Health and safety inspections. (What does this mean?)
(2) Additional, specific curriculum standards. (We don't think this needs explanation, individualized education is the heart of homeschool. We can see "standards" removing our ability to meet our children's individual needs. This is not required for brick and mortar private schools).
(3) Certification or credentialing of teachers.” (That’s YOU! Do you have time and funds to go back to school?)
We feel that AB2926 must be stopped.
AB 2756
The fire inspection portion of this bill has been removed, but this is no reason to let down your guard. This bill will require further data collection. It targets and unfairly profiles homeschooling families. Your information would be separated out from large private schools and placed in a PUBLIC DATABASE with your address, etc.
There are further implications as to why they would like to separate us out. Know that this isn’t in our best interest.
We feel that AB 2756 must be stopped.
