We started the week off celebrating a birthday. Nobody saw that coming.
Remember the deck project we started earlier in the month… it’s done. Initially we were just gonna replace the bad deck boards but there were so many we replaced them all. I’m leaning towards a semi translucent stain. Waiting on a rug. ( you should consider DMF if you have a deck project)
We built some new doors at our shop. They turned out amazing.
I had a brilliant idea to make some shutters out of the scrap wood, which also turned out amazing.
We are totally enjoying these summer days. Weeks a way from college move-in … and I’m not okay.

Well…. It wasn’t exactly the outcome they were hoping for but Jacob Janning and Ben Wilson placed 17th at the MLF National tournament at Lake Cumberland this week. Next up is Bass Nation Nationals at Kentucky Lake in late July. Super proud of these guys for their commitment and dedication to the sport. Thanks for cheering and supporting them from the sidelines.

Well…. Not exactly the finish they had hoped for but still placed 17th at the MLF national high school tournament at lake Cumberland this week. Next up is the BASS Nation Nationals at Kentucky Lake in late July. Super proud of these guys… and their captain. Thank you for supporting and cheering from the sidelines.

Well…. Not the finish they expected but placed 17th at the MLF high school national tournament at lake Cumberland this week. Next up is the Bass Nation Nationals at Kentucky Lake in late July. Couldn’t be more proud of these guys…. and their captain. They have had a heck of a season. Thanks to everyone who has cheered and supported them from the sidelines.

And then with the rest of family at my nephews wedding with my forever wedding date and Lily.

This is the groom at my wedding 28 years ago.

It was a wonderful week but I am looking forward to getting back to Duke Manor Farm…. Where it’s raining and turning cold 😜 How was your week?

February so far:

We finally got snow! We had about 4-5 inches around here.

While the guys were snowed in, Lily and I were in Florida for college visit and bridal shower. We won the bridal dress contest.

Cold outside means inside projects. Painted the ceiling in the hallway the color of the walls.( agreeable gray at 25%)

Someone Celebrated a birthday!

Had some new baby goats

Couldn’t stop…. On to the kitchen!

Some weeks are loud and productive, others are slow and steady—but they all add up to this life I’m grateful to call ours.

The frozen precip sure is magical when the sun comes out. Thankfully no power outages or trees down from the sleet/freezing rain we had over the weekend. Kids are enjoying a day off from school and all storm snacks have been consumed! 😜 how’s your weather and snack stash?
