Under current energy marks an ending that brings a lot of clarity with the ten of swords and ace of swords. The combination represent a painful realization that can no longer be ignored.

The energy begins with intense mental fixation, rapid replaying of events and possibilities (knight of swords) although some of those thoughts are rooted in fantasy and lack of clarity (the moon). This a feel all consuming and debilitating.

You eventually do arrive to a place of clarity after that initial intensity. You realize that you already know. There is an energy attached to you (two of cups) that feels the same way as you do. They view you as independent, self sufficient, and intriguing (nine of pentacles). You wondered how they felt about you and realize you already knew. That realization comes from grounded, intentional reflection; one that looks beyond your current situation into the horizon.

That brings healing, wishes, peace, and dreamy possibilities (the star). You or become highly activated by the trajectory bringing forth a side of you or them that feel the attraction deeply and can’t help but move towards the energy they desire (knight of wands).

The blue full moon asks us to set down what no longer serves us and invite the new. For you, setting down your certainty and embracing your intuition and embodying the magnetic energy that already lives inside of you may be the key to expansion.

Mystic Plant Room is intentionally different from a big box store or garden center. It’s cozy, personal, sensory, and deeply curated. The people who “get it” always seem to find their way here — and I’m endlessly grateful for every one of you who respects the space, enjoys the cats, wanders slowly, brings kind energy, and continues to support this small business.

As more people discover the shop, I wanted to share a few gentle reminders that help keep the vibe peaceful for everyone:
🌿 Please be mindful of the energy and volume you bring into the space. Loud, chaotic, rowdy energy can quickly shift the atmosphere for others trying to enjoy a quiet experience. (Including myself)
🌿 There are now two shop cats inside. Please don’t hold the front door open from the street or lobby area longer than necessary, so our little greeters stay safe indoors.
🌿 Between plants, pottery, crystals, and tiny treasures around every corner, shopping tends to work better with both hands free. Drinks can be left in the lobby while you shop.
🌿 If you need to take a phone call, please step into the lobby until you’re finished. Phone conversations inside the shop can be really disruptive to the peaceful atmosphere.
🌿 I’m always happy to help with thoughtful plant questions, guidance, and finding the right fit for your space. This shop was built for connection, curiosity, and mindful shopping experiences.

🌿 A small Sunday update 🌿

With warmer days ahead, I’ll be shortening **Sunday hours** just a bit going into May ☀️ Everything else is staying the same!

As the seasons shift, I’m also making space to enjoy a little more time outside—soaking up the sunshine, getting into nature, and recharging so I can keep showing up for you and the shop in the best way 💚

Mystic is still here year-round, always evolving with new plants, fresh finds, little rearranges, and of course… the cats 🐾 Come stop in, see what’s new.

💧 Plant Tip Tuesday: Your Water Matters More Than You Think
Not all water is created equal—and your plants *know* the difference
🌿
Here’s a quick breakdown:
☁️ Rainwater** (plant favorite) Natural, mineral-balanced, and gentle—great for *all* plants. Try collecting it in the warmer months!
💧 Distilled / Reverse Osmosis Water** Pure water with minerals removed. Best for sensitive plants like peace lilies, spider plants, calatheas, Albos and ferns.
🏔️ Spring Water** Contains natural minerals—generally safe for most plants, but can still build up over time.
🚰 City Tap Water** Often contains chlorine, chloramine, and fluoride. Letting it sit helps a little—but not with everything.
🪨 Well Water ** High in minerals like calcium, iron, and magnesium. Can cause spotting, buildup, and stress over time.
🧂 Softened Water** Avoid when possible—added sodium can harm roots long-term.
🌱 If your plant is getting brown spots, crispy edges, or just seems “off”… your water could be the reason. Switching your water—even just for sensitive plants—can make a *visible* difference.

Four years of Mystic Plant Room 🌿

This Wednesday (4/29), I’ll be keeping the shop open a little later — until 7 PM — for anyone who wants to stop in after work, take their time, and hang out in the space.
As a small thank you for being part of this place over the years, everything in the shop will be 10% off for the day.
I’ll also have some Mystic Plant Room pens to give out while they last 💫

🌡️ Even if days feel warm, nights are still too cold for tropical houseplants.
Wait until evening temps stay above 50°F.
There’s a big difference between houseplants and the plants you see outside in summer.
🪴 Houseplants (what we carry)
These are tropical plants that can thrive indoors - in stable, controlled conditions.
🌸 Outdoor plants
Annuals, perennials, herbs, vegetables, and flowering tropicals are grown and acclimated for life outside. They’re handled differently from the start—different soil, nutrients, light exposure, and care routines.

🌿 Should you put your outside?
Honestly… it depends on what you want from your houseplants.
✨ **Going for a vibe?** If you’re styling a patio or porch and aren’t too attached, go for it. Just know you’re taking on more risk—sunburn, pests, and temperature swings are all part of outdoor life.
💚 **Have plants you really care about?** You might want to keep them inside where conditions are controlled and predictable. 🪴Some plants thrive indoors their whole lives—there’s no need to move them at all.
🌿 The plants in your home (and in our shop) have been grown in stable, indoor conditions. They need time to adjust before being exposed to direct sun, wind, and temperature swings.
🌿 **If you do move houseplants outside:** Start in full shade and slowly increase light over 1–2 weeks. 🐛 **Be prepared for pests** Always check and treat before bringing plants back inside.
I’ve worked with both indoor houseplants and outdoor garden plants in different climates around the country. They each require a different approach and understanding. If you’re ever unsure, just ask—we’re here to help you figure out what works best for your plants and your space 💚
