➡️☀️➡️💧 Wet. Dry. Hot. Humid. Repeat.

If your lawn or landscaping is looking a little “off” this summer, you’re definitely not the only one.

Between the wet spring, dry stretches, and all of these warm, humid nights, we’ve had pretty ideal conditions for plant diseases across Northeast Wisconsin.

Our Maintenance Director, Jeremy Stryhn, says we’re seeing more fungal issues than normal this year — in lawns, trees, shrubs, and even perennials.

🍂 Yellowing leaves
🍂 Brown or black spots
🍂 Wilting
🍂 Strange discoloration
🍂 Areas of the lawn that just don’t look right

The tricky part? Not every issue means the same thing — and not every one needs to be treated.

Sometimes the best thing you can do is remove damaged growth and give the plant a chance to recover. Other times, catching a disease early can make a big difference.

📸 One easy thing you can do: Take a few pictures now and compare them again in a week or two. If you notice the problem continuing to spread, that’s usually a good sign it’s worth having someone take a closer look.

And now we’re curious… 👀 What are you seeing in your yard this summer? Spotted leaves? Brown patches? Wilting plants? Drop a picture in the comments — chances are, you’re not the only one dealing with it! 🌿

🌱 There’s still time to make some big changes to your yard this year!

This firepit and patio were recently installed in Pulaski, and the lawn will continue filling in throughout the fall—setting things up for a beautiful, healthy lawn next spring. ☀️🏡

If you’ve been thinking about adding a new outdoor space, now is a great time to get moving. Wait too much longer and, well... Wisconsin weather may have other plans for us. 😄

Whether you’re building a new home, replacing a struggling lawn, or finishing off a landscaping project, we still have a few spots available this fall.

A patio, firepit, fresh lawn... whatever helps turn your yard into a space where family and friends can hang out, play, grill, and make memories. 🌳🍔⚽

Get it done this fall, let everything settle in, and be ready to enjoy it next spring.

📞 Give Lowney’s a call and let’s see what we can still get on the schedule!

🌿📚 Just in time for a new school year!

Back in 2024, our Lowney’s Landscaping team had the opportunity to create this outdoor learning space for St. Edward the Confessor of Mackville — giving students and the parish community another place to learn, gather, and enjoy some time outside. 🌳

And two years later… this is the part we love. 💚

The plants have filled in, everything has matured, and the space looks even better now than the day we finished it. 🌸🌿

As students head back to school, it’s pretty cool to see this outdoor classroom growing right along with them.

A big thank you to St. Edward Parish - Mackville, WI the Confessor of Mackville for trusting Lowney’s with a project that will continue to be enjoyed for years to come! 😊

🐛🌿 A Bug’s Life… Lowney’s edition. 😂

Meet Heimlich, the Cecropia moth caterpillar!

Our Maintenance Ops Coordinator, Bailey, found our fellow green friend hanging out in the landscape — and he is definitely not missing any meals. 👀🍃

Cecropia caterpillars feed on the leaves of trees and shrubs while they grow, and this guy looks like he’s been enjoying the all-you-can-eat buffet. 😂 One caterpillar usually won’t cause much trouble for a healthy, established plant, but enough hungry friends can definitely leave a plant looking pretty bare.

The coolest part? This big green guy will eventually become a Cecropia moth — the largest native moth in North America! 🦋

In the words of Heimlich himself…

“Someday, I will be a beautiful butterfly, and then everything will be better.”
— Heimlich 🐛💚

Close enough, Heimlich. You’ll be a moth… but we’re still rooting for you. 😂🦋

⚾🌧️ A little rain wasn't going to stop one of our favorite Lowney's traditions!

Friday night, our team and their families headed to Neuroscience Group Field for our annual Lowney's Landscaping Timber Rattlers night. The rain had other plans for a while — **1 hour and 21 minutes, to be exact** 😅 — but eventually, we got some baseball! ⚾🍻🌭

The Timber Rattlers didn't come away with the win this time, falling 8-4 to the Lake County Captains, but that definitely didn't ruin the night.

It's always fun to get everyone together outside of work, bring the families along, enjoy some food and drinks, and spend a night just hanging out. 💚

A big thank you to everyone who came out and waited out the weather with us!

We work pretty hard together all season, so we're glad we get to have a little fun together, too. 😁⚾

🤖🌱 The future of lawn care is here... but maybe not exactly how most people picture it.

In this video, we're using a robotic mower to maintain the grass underneath solar panels—an area that can be tough, time-consuming, and sometimes nearly impossible to mow efficiently with traditional equipment.

As we've tested robotic mowing and learned more about the technology, we've found there are definitely situations where it can be a great tool. But it's not replacing experienced lawn care crews anytime soon.

Tall grass, heavy growth, changing site conditions, obstacles, weather, and large open areas are still often better handled by our crews and commercial mowing equipment. And even the robots still need someone to set them up, monitor them, maintain them, and make sure they're doing what they're supposed to do.

Will robotic mowers be part of the future of lawn care? Absolutely. 🚜➡️🤖

For us, it's really about using the right tool in the right place and having trained professionals behind the technology to manage it.

We'll make the investment, test it, learn what works and what doesn't, and figure out where robotic mowing really makes sense... so you don't have to.

That's what we're here for. 🌱 Give Lowney's a call today!

🌊 A shoreline transformation on Lake Winneconne! 🪨🌿

This property got a major upgrade with new natural stone riprap to help stabilize the shoreline, reduce erosion and protect it from waves.

But function was only part of the project. Our team reshaped the lawn, created clean stone borders and added new plantings throughout the property. 🌱 As everything continues to grow and fill in, the landscaping will soften the stone and make the shoreline feel even more like a natural extension of the property.

We love how the stonework follows the curves of the shoreline and ties into the existing landscaping, pathways and outdoor living spaces.

And with the boat sitting right there, we have to ask… 🚤🍻 where are you heading first? We have a feeling a waterfront bar might be involved. 😂 Tag your favorite Lake Winneconne stop below!

👏 Great work by our designers and crew bringing this one together!

What does a 100+ person landscaping company look like at 6:30 on a Tuesday morning? 🌅🚛🌳

A little something like this. Organized chaos? Maybe. 😄 Just another morning at Lowney’s? Absolutely.

While most of the Fox Valley is still getting their day started, our yard is already wide awake. Trucks are running, trailers are getting hooked up, equipment is moving and crews are grabbing the last few things they need before heading out.

By 7:15, almost everything you see here will be spread out across the Fox Valley and beyond. Some crews are building outdoor spaces, some are maintaining properties, some are taking care of trees and others are delivering materials, meeting with customers or keeping things moving behind the scenes. 🌿🧱🌲

It takes a lot of people and a lot of moving parts to make it all happen!

Stay safe on the roads today — chances are you’ll see a Lowney’s truck or two out there! 🚛💪
