Reality check: Farming is hard, regardless of the crop. It doesn't matter how long you've been doing it, you are always working with forces out of your control.
In order for us to have bouquets on a weekly basis we need to have the right number of the right flowers growing at the right time- and you have to plan it all out months and months in advance. You have no say in the weather, temperature or bugs.
Despite doing everything "right", we are going to lose an entire row of China Aster and our entire second succession of snapdragons due to a fungal disease and there's nothing we can do about it. These were going to be two of our major flower contributors in summer bouquets.๐
Of course, you can't be in farming and not be able to pivot. We are always learning and listening to our customers. We will look at ways to better prep our garden beds for next year, narrow down what flowers we grow really well and scale that, understand the amount of each flower we need and when. It's complicated but we're up for the challenge. Thanks for joining with us on this journey- your support and smiling faces make it work it โค๏ธ.
