!! ️CLIENT: "How much will it cost to do this job?" "
CONTRACTOR: "$2,800 Dollars."
CUSTOMER: "That's TOO expensive for this job!! "
CONTRACTOR: "How much do YOU think it would cost?" "
CUSTOMER: "No more than $800 dollars - MAX!" It's a simple job! "
CONTRACTOR: "I can't prioritize my time for so little."
CUSTOMER: "People in their line of work are very greedy."
CONTRACTOR: "I'm sorry you feel that way. Why don't you do it yourself? "
CUSTOMER: "But... but... I don't know how to do any of this."
CONTRACTOR: "For $900 bucks, I'll show you EXACTLY how to do this job." Then you can spend $800 to do the job and you’ll still save $1,100 dollars — PLUS... you will get the knowledge and experience for the next time you want to do a job yourself.".
CUSTOMER: "It's a deal! Let's do it."
CONTRACTOR: You'll need tools to get started. "So you'll have to buy a welder, a grinder, a cutting saw, a drill, a welding hood, gloves and a few other things."
CUSTOMER: "But I don't have all this equipment and I can't buy all this for one job."
CONTRACTOR: "So for another $300 more I'll let you rent my tools..." and you'll still be saving $800 Dollars".
CUSTOMER: "That's ruining my savings. But I will rent his tools."
CONTRACTOR: "It's alright! I'll be back on Saturday and we can get started.".
CUSTOMER: "Hold on. I just can't on Saturday I only have time today."
CONTRACTOR: "Sorry, I only give lessons on Saturdays, because I have to prioritize my time and my tools have to be on other jobs with other customers throughout the week."
CUSTOMER: "It's okay! "I will sacrifice my family plans on Saturday."
CONTRACTOR: "Yeah... me as well. Oh... and I forgot ... to do your work yourself, you also have to pay for the materials. """Everything is in high demand right now, so the best thing you can do is get your truck and load it up by 6 a.m. before everyone else gets here."
CUSTOMER: " SIX AM ??? On a Saturday??? This is too early for me. And also... I don't have a truck."
"CONTRACTOR: ""I guess you'll have to rent one.""". Do you have a couple of strong men to help you load and unload everything?. "
CUSTOMER: "Ummm.... you already know... I've been thinking. It's probably better if YOU do this job. I’d rather pay someone to do it right than go through all the hassle.
CONTRACTOR: "Smart move, sign this up and get out of the way so I can work."
THE REALITY IS THIS...
When you pay for a job, especially artisanal, you are not only paying for the material used, you are also paying for:
- Knowledge
-Experience
- Instruments
- Services
- Time
- Punctuality
- Responsibility
- Professionalism
- Precision
- Handwork
- Sacrifices
- Safety and protection
- Payment of tax obligations
No one should denigrate a professional's work by judging pricing - ESPECIALLY when you don't know all the elements or costs required for the production of such work.
This was just a remix of an old story I heard once and I share it in support of artisans, specialists and entrepreneurs all over the world!
You can't haggle for a service you don't actually have the skills or knowledge to do it yourself. You can't get a high-quality gourmet dinner for the same price as a McDonald's Happy Meal. And you can’t get mad when skilled people actually KNOW their own worth.
Be smart. Trust a trusted professional. And never forget... you ALWAYS get what you pay for.
