Spearheaded by founder Joy Zinoman and designed in collaboration with Debra Booth, Robert Sponseller, and Ron Henderson, this new permanent home for the Studio Acting Conservatory transformed a former church into an inspiring training atelier for the theater arts. Spaces include four studio classrooms, teacher and administrative offices, and a student lounge.
The Conservatory is having an opening celebration on August 28, 2021.

Always fun to see an old project get new attention.
In 1997, Jon, working with colleagues Andrea Aragon and Robert Sponseller, developed an Urban Design Proposal proposal for an exhibit at the National Building Museum. The Greater Greater Washington writer Neil Flanagan wrote about the project recently.

After spending a few years in Australia, Sally and Chuck Mitchell returned to their Arlington home longing to recreate a seamless connection with the landscape that they had experienced living abroad. Working closely with them, we replaced a small enclosed porch with a cozy four-season lounge off the living room that incorporates a dining area. Expansive glass and continuous stone flooring blur the distinction between inside and out. The roof tilts back to reveal the enormity of three magnificent white oak trees in the back yard. The adjacent landscape, designed by Sally, is framed by laurel hedges that reciprocates the intimate quality of the new addition.

When doctors Kayleen Gloor and Natasha Ungerer decided to open their private veterinary clinic in the Clarendon neighborhood of Arlington, we collaborated on an efficient design that allows for clear distinction between the client and the staff areas. The clinic's 2014 square feet includes three exam rooms, treatment area with adjacent surgical room, and an X-ray facility.

The Melton residence is an existing one bedroom apartment in a high-rise condominium overlooking Pentagon City. Our scope of work included reconfiguring the bedroom and bathroom area to create a streamlined sequence of movement. In choosing finishes for the apartment, we selected materials that were significant to original building's materials, such as carrara marble, and understated to showcase the owner's collection of furniture and art pieces.
