Our customer had a company come and do an attic insulation job. The house still seemed cold in the winter and the furnace was constantly running. Upon further inspection, we discovered they did not install an adequate R-value. In Michigan, the minimum R-value is R-24 in the attic. We find that is simply inadequate, and we recommend a minimum R-49 up to an R-60 to really make a difference in your heating and cooling.
