As a general rule, filters should be changed every 1 to 3 months — but a few factors can move that timeline up:

Pets in the home: more dander means more frequent changes
Allergies or respiratory conditions: aim for every 1-2 months
Dusty or dry climate: Denver's dry air means your filter works harder
Running your AC constantly: the more it runs, the faster it loads up
