After spending two weeks getting estimates from 7 different HVAC companies, I chose Lakeside for my furnace replacement and heat pump installation. The job was completed yesterday, I'm 1000% sure I went with the right pros. Tony came out for the initial evaluation and quote during a power outage and still figured out exactly what we needed! Mick and Nick are consummate professionals who have an extreme level of knowledge and skill at their trade. They worked quietly, super clean, needed nothing from me and left the most top-of-the-line equipment in safe and working order. They re-did the electric and the ducting to make everything is safe and efficient. Lakeside was not the cheapest, but I see great value in the investment and they clearly are the best.

We were having issues with our AC unit tripping the breaker. Called the “big box” company we have a membership with to diagnose and they said the compressor had failed and we needed new unit; quoted us $16K! Called Lakeside and Tony came out to verify. Discovered it was simply a loose wire in our breaker box - something the other guy didn’t even check! Ultimately, our AC is just fine after replacing the circuit breaker. We are so thankful there are still honest companies like Lakeside who do the right thing instead of just taking our money.

These guys installed our mini split last year and did a great job at a fair price - unit is still humming along without issues almost a year later.

But that's only part of the reason I'm writing this review. Since last year, we have had two problems with our (separate) central AC unit that they were able to completely resolve by troubleshooting for a few minutes over the phone with us. It's a bummer how rare this seems to be these days: a company that actually wants to help and educate its customers, instead of just being out to make a quick buck by sending out a tech for a $180 visit for any old problem.

These guys are clearly in it for the right reasons, and by saving me some money on simple DIY-able fixes in the short term, they are WAY more likely to get my business for the bigger stuff in the future. I wish more tradesman companies in our area would take note.

Colorado Home Electrification and Appliance Rebates (HEAR)
The (HEAR) program is another valuable resource for low- and moderate-income households. While it has income restrictions, it’s also capable of covering 100% of a project’s cost as long as it stays under the maximum rebate dollar amount.

You’ll receive point-of-sale rebates up to $14,000 per household with qualifying energy-efficient HVAC systems, appliances or other home upgrades. This program prioritizes electrification projects because it both reduces emissions while improving energy efficiency.

For households wanting to apply for a rebate through HEAR, 50% of the system’s cost is covered if your income falls within 80% to 150% of the median. To be eligible for a rebate worth 100% of the project’s cost, your household income must be below 80% of the area’s median income. Homeowners with income above 150% of the median are not eligible.
