A good friend of many of ours & a valued & loved member of our community recently lost her home, her pets, all of hers, her husband’s & her children’s life long memories & valued possessions to a house fire. They fought hard as they could to retrieve their 2 dogs but the smoke was too consuming & they had to make the heartbreaking decision to save themselves & their 4 children first.
Hannah Haislip is one of the most kind hearted humans I have ever known. She’d give you the shirt off her back just to see you smile. She’s a bright & shining light & is the strongest woman I’ve met. Life gave her lemons & she’s trying her damn hardest to make lemonade with them but has too often been the victim of unfortunate circumstances even though she’s the most deserving of nothing but love & happiness.
In Wild Garden & the plant community tradition, when one of us falls, the rest of us rally around them to help however we can. We are a community, a family, and I’ve seen & experienced so much wonderful compassion & generosity in these situations. Hannah & her family need our help & our support more then ever right now. They are staying with family but will have to move to a hotel this weekend.
I will be posting a benefit purge tomorrow in my group Wild Garden BST, if you are able to donate proceeds of a plant (or planty natured items, or anything really that could help this family) or two to help Hannah & her husband keep their kids safe & fed & comfortable while they grieve their losses & figure out their next steps, it would be so greatly appreciated. On the flip side if you are able to purchase a plant or two that would be equally appreciated.
I’ll leave a spot in the comments (of this same post in mh group) to post your names if you’d like to be tagged in the benefit purge. I am also attaching the link to their GoFundMe page in case you would like to help that way. Even if you can only give $1 it would be so very much appreciated & would help get this traumatized family hopefully back on their feet & to a semblance of normalcy sooner then later.
So much love to you all ♥️🌿
