URBAN INTERSECTION

This design proposes an architectural dialogue where transparency meets community, redefining the threshold between private and public realms.

The entryway, framed by expansive glass and ascending wooden steps, invites light to flood the space, creating an energetic connection to the vibrant streetscape. Meanwhile, the overhanging roof extends its gesture outward, drawing visitors toward the welcoming façade with its intentional integration of landscape and structure.

In these moments, the architecture cultivates a dynamic relationship between inhabitants and their surroundings, enhancing the experience of community and connection within the urban fabric.

Structure as Expression

In modern architecture, structure is not something to hide—it becomes part of the design language.

Here, slender steel columns support the extended roof plane while subtly expressing the forces at work within the building. Their angled geometry introduces a quiet tension between vertical gravity and horizontal reach, allowing the structure to feel both light and deliberate.
Set against dark wood cladding and the surrounding forest, the steel elements become a precise and honest articulation of how the building stands.

Webb Cove Modern

A quiet composition of wood, stone, steel, and glass shapes the arrival at Webb Cove Modern, where low rooflines and natural materials allow the home to settle gently into its wooded setting.

Laurel Ledge — Grounded in Place

At Laurel Ledge, the house is shaped not just by the land, but by a specific moment within it.
An existing rock outcropping is preserved and integrated into the design, with the architecture carefully wrapping around it to create a protected outdoor space. This move anchors the house to the site—both physically and experientially—while establishing a quiet zone of enclosure within the broader landscape.

The result is a dialogue between building and terrain, where the natural features of the site are not obstacles, but generators of form.

The approach to Laurel Ledge is defined by a quiet interplay of mass, material, and structure.

A cantilevered upper volume extends over the entry, marking the threshold while creating a sense of compression and release as one moves into the home. Below, layered wood and stone volumes anchor the building to the terrain, guiding movement inward with a restrained, horizontal composition.

The result is an arrival that feels both grounded and dynamic—where structure becomes expression and the house reveals itself gradually within the landscape.

Structure + Landscape

At Webb Cove Modern, the architecture extends outward to engage the surrounding landscape.

A broad roof plane projects beyond the walls, supported by slender steel columns that express both structure and lightness. Beneath it, layered materials—stone, wood, steel, and glass—create a composition that feels grounded while remaining open to the forest beyond.
As dusk settles in, warm interior light begins to glow through the glass, reinforcing the connection between shelter and the natural environment that defines the house.

Modern architecture shaped by the mountain landscape.
