Weather forecasters are warning that frigid weather will be knocking on our doors this weekend. Furnaces installed in our area are not sized for such low temperatures and may continuously run without ever satisfying your thermostat. Do not panic; your furnace is doing all it can. Things you can do to make sure your furnace is operating as well as possible include keeping your air filter clean and ensuring all supply vents are open- even in rooms that are not being used. Additionally, during these extreme temperatures, do not set your thermostat back at night or when you leave the house. If you have warm air blowing from your supply vents, then your furnace is working, probably as hard as it can.

I received this email this morning from a customer who does do comments on Google, but wanted me to share this. We installed a Generac Generator over the summer at his home, and this is what he had to say about it ....

"Power has been out in my little neighborhood for over 24 hours. During that time, my generator has worked perfectly. I believe same is true for my next door neighbor as well. This morning, our neighborhood to the back was darker than dark, but we were lit up. Also, after several messages with Spectrum my cable/internet/landline all worked. We have had numerous short power outages this year, but now going on 30 hours on this one. Generator has now paid for itself. Just want to say thank you for getting this done and use me as a reference any time."

Started doing a little project. Frost on the roof, 32 outside and setting a 20 ton heating/cooling unit on the roof. Thanks to All Crane out of Cleveland Ohio for a seamless lift and thank you St John School for entrusting Ziegler Heating to provide you a new HVAC unit for your gymnasium.

Below is an email we received from a satisfied customer. The project included 2 new Unico systems, geothermal heat pump hydronic unit with new storage tank, pump pack and zone controls for hot water baseboard heat.

Hey folks, most importantly stay safe in this weather.

Here are a few reminders...
1 - don't run portable generators indoors, even in the garage
2 - put your thermostat on temperature hold, setting it back in this weather is a detriment
3 - if your furnace is vented through the side of the house, make sure the vent pipes are cleared of snow
4 - if you need us we are here, however please be patient with us. We do have to drive to get to you, and we want our techs to return home safely. Also if possible provide access to your home by plowing your driveway and shoveling your walkways.

Another quality install for a customers “man cave”. Floor heat system will be warm and cozy all winter for either the big game or an evening with the guys.

It's a bit chilly this morning here in Northeast Ohio. So if you need some heat on today, go ahead and turn your furnace on, it won't hurt anything.

However, just some things to do first ...
1. Make sure the thermostat is set to the "heat" position
2. Remember your furnace has been off for the past 4-5 months, so it's going to "smell" a bit, that is perfectly normal. It's just the dust that has settled on it burning off.

Today is a bitter sweet day here at Ziegler Heating. Russell Westcott has decided to see what life can bring through retirement. We wish Russ and Sandy all the best as he embarks on the next chapter of his life. Thank you Russ for the years of dedication you have given to the HVAC industry.
