Here's a project we've almost completed. The narrow space between the pool and pool house lent itself to a formal design. We are adding metal trellises, an urn, and a stone bench. On the right are espaliered cherry trees that will be trained on the trellises.

Everyone loves Fall colors. This is Oakleaf Hydrangea with Pokew**d poking through. I know it's a w**d but I like the red stems and purple berries and it doesn't seem invasive.
