Alright Neighbors,
Looks like Texas is about to remind us we don’t handle cold very often, so here are a few easy tips from Abel’s Handyman Services to protect your home and keep things running smooth during this freeze. ❄️
🏠 A little prep beats a big repair
• Let faucets drip (especially on outside walls)
• Open cabinets under sinks so warm air can circulate
• Wrap outdoor faucets and any exposed pipes
• Disconnect and drain garden hoses
•‼️Locate any and all water shutoffs just incase‼️(unless you wouldn’t mind the new ice rink)
🔥 Keep the house cozy
• Set your thermostat no lower than 55°
• Close gaps and drafts around doors and windows
• Use space heaters safely and never leave them unattended
🐾 Round up the critters & plants
• Bring pets inside where it’s warm
• Cover plants or bring them in if you can
• Check on elderly neighbors or anyone who might need a hand
🔦 Just in case the lights go out
• Charge phones and battery packs
• Keep flashlights, blankets, and layers ready
• No grills or generators indoors —
‼️safety first‼️
