We are so fortunate to have and be part of such a great local market! We appreciate and are humbled by the all the support we receive from our local community. December 27, 2024. 54 degrees. The mosses were brilliant at Desonier State Preserve in Athens County. Don't all go at once - the solitude is beautiful.

Found this flowering a couple days before Thanksgiving - Queen Anne's Lace 'Purple Kisses'. We'd planted some this past spring and forgot about/didn't see any trace of them due to the drought. While these flowers got frozen a couple days later there are quite a few seedlings that should overwinter and bloom next summer.

I found myself out near Ups/United Plant Savers Sanctuary the other day and though I'd hike a little. What a beautiful and special place. The Red Oaks were flaming and the understory was glowing. They've just completed a new Reclaim Trail to add to all the others already in use. SE Ohio is fortunate indeed!

Our little 3 1/2 year old Jackfruit(4' tall) has 3 young fruits on it. Given that mature fruits can weigh 50 pounds and up it should get interesting.

Not the showiest floral event in the greenhouse, but pretty cool anyway. Carob flowers on our 25 or so year old Carob Tree. I believe they are male flowers; female flowers are on separate trees and since we just have the one tree, no pods are expected

We won't be at the Athens Farmers Market Saturday the 14th while we're at the 26th Annual Pawpaw festival but it will be business as usual at the greenhouse - we couldn't fit everything into the van. Greenhouse hours - Thursday - Saturday 10 - 4.
