We’re excited to share that we’ve been selected as a recipient of the Amex Shop Small Grants Program.
With support from and , we’ve received a grant to help us grow and innovate.

We’re using this grant to build up our fabrication shop, specifically by purchasing a laser cutter. Having this machine allows us to explore custom designs in a variety of architectural scales and materials. Our goal is to use it for R&D and to one day have a retail presence.

The courthouse lawn is the heart of our city, and we are so proud to be a part of its restoration.

: Athens Main Street and the Limestone County Commission have entered into an agreement establishing a partnership to restore and reimagine the Limestone County Courthouse grounds in downtown Athens, a project born of the devastation caused by a December 2024 tornado and designed to create a lasting community gathering place for generations to come.

Project Spotlight: Baw Baw’s BBQ

Baw Baw’s is the newest addition to the Downtown Athens restaurant scene. This once rundown and flood-proned structure was historically used as a church, but has now been transformed into Athens’ newest BBQ joint. It’s instantly recognizable by its vibrant farmers market mural and the smell of smoked meats that fills the air.

AMBL helped business owners, Jimmy and Audrey McMeans, turn this vacant building into a functioning space just steps from the Athens Farmer’s Market. We even uncovered an old plaque that celebrates the rich history of the structure which was once burned during the Civil Rights Era. Next time you’re in Athens, support local and come try Baw Baw’s!

What a morning to love City of Athens, Alabama. 🎉

We had the privilege of being in the room today as Mayor Ronnie Marks delivered his State of the City Address, and if you weren't there, just know: the future of this city looks good.

Athens Main Street exists because we believe in this community. Days like today remind us we're not alone in that belief. From City Hall to downtown and everywhere in between, people are showing up for Athens, and that is something worth celebrating.

Here's to our city. Here's to what's coming. 💛🖤

Project Spotlight: Limestone County Recycling Center

We’re proud to have worked with in taking this critical first step in bringing recycling back to our county! The structure currently houses one baler for paper products, and is designed to grow with demand and to one day accept other materials. Special thanks to ADEM (Alabama Department of Environmental Management) for administering the grant that made this project possible.
