Anyone wondering what's going on in Wellston?

After serving the community for 50+ years, the Kroger building is in the process of a full reimagination.

The Jackson County Economic Development Partnership partnered with BDT Architects & Designers to transform the space into a modern medical office building. The current plan is set to include reception, clinical spaces, and a full pharmacy.

We're proud to breathe new life into a longtime local landmark while supporting expanded healthcare (and pharmacy!) access in Wellston. Check out the photos for a digital render of the finished product, plus how the building's looking right now.

This Thanksgiving, we’re feeling extra grateful to be part of a community that cares so deeply. For the third year in a row, the Athens Area Girl Scouts have organized an incredible effort to provide meal boxes to families in Athens County. What started with 20 boxes in 2022 has grown to **125 boxes** this year, filled with the essentials for a joyful Thanksgiving Day meal.

BDT Architects & Designers is proud to support this initiative. From local vegetables gathered by Tony with the OU Student Farm () and Emily at to turkeys and hams generously purchased by Central Food Services of OU from Seaman’s, this project showcases what happens when our community comes together.

Thank you to the Athens Area Girl Scouts for leading this mission with heart, and to every local business, farmer, and volunteer who helped make magic happen.

Here’s to a holiday season filled with gratitude, giving, and connection. 🦃✨
