PSA: Summer is the best time to clean your washable rugs!
I like to pick a hot sunny day to do this!
Unroll your rug outside, wet it with a hose, and scrub with dish soap.
Repeat until it's clean. Rinse it off well.
Don't skip this part! Roll it up and let it drip dry for an hour standing up before you hang it to dry (it'll be too heavy otherwise).
Hang on the fence to dry! The goal is to have enough time so it dries before nightfall. If you leave it out overnight, it might be wet again with dew. Mine didn't dry in time so I moved it into the garage and brought it out again the next day to dry.
Note: make sure your rug is washable before you do this!
