I love taking photos. Of myself…of loved ones…of my beloved garden & plants. The ability to have evidence in living color to look back on shouldn’t be underestimated.

It’s currently FREEZING outchea; but scrolling through my photo gallery, I’m reminded that in a few short weeks, the brassica seeds I started last weekend will be ready to be planted out. A few more weeks from that and we’ll be munching on home grown veggies which taste soooo much richer than store bought. Pictured here is the clementine cauliflower that did so well for me last year & will be making another appearance in 2024, all things being equal. There’s also that cute guy who hung out all spring in my beds! 💚🌱

It was International Teacher’s Day yesterday & my sweet girl & I picked some flowers for her teacher. She loved it! Winning! 🤎

I needed some green peppers…I ended up pulling a whole bucket of green stuff and went down the rabbit hole of taking out a lot of warm season stuff that there’s no point keeping now that the temperatures are dropping.

Side note. Mr claims when I say I’m popping into the garden for a few minutes, he interprets that as “I’ll see her in 3 hours” 😂🤣.

Back to the pepper plants. I didn’t pull them all…Some have loads of potential & will stay till the very end. I have plans to overwinter some peppers in my basement again this year as I was about 50% successful in last years experiment.

Some* of last night’s harvest. I’m collecting a handful of peppers like this every day or two. The rest of the vegetable garden is pretty much done, as I am. I made the decision not to indoor start veggie seeds for a fall garden this year. I needed a break!

I did direct sow some lettuce, arugula, kale, spinach and bok choy which are growing now. The weather has gotten much cooler, but it’s a dry, dry fall outchea. Can’t remember when last it rained and we have no rain in our current 10 day forecast. That means a lot of hand watering. I’m not digging that, but here we are! 2024 will absolutely be the year of passive watering!

Colorado Classic (my best producing dahlia plant. Just keeps on putting out blooms, even when I don’t treat her right).

These tubers came from last year, and overwintered in the ground. Already dreaming of varieties I want to add next year. Yellows and whites and peaches and…..😝. Have a good weekend everyone 💐.

I’m still harvesting flowers, tomatoes & peppers. It’s MUCH cooler out in the mornings & evenings so I actually want to be out there.
