Every contractor has a few systems they rely on before demo day, and these are mine.

A little planning upfront can save you a lot of time once the work starts. From finalizing material selections to scheduling deliveries and preparing for the unexpected, these are a few habits I’ve developed over the years that help me stay organized on every remodel. Tools like the The Home Depot app and scheduled delivery help me stay organized and keep projects moving.

Time to give this pantry the upgrade it deserves!

This pantry was just too small so we demoed it, reframed the space, and built a larger layout that makes a lot more sense. It’s still in progress, but the extra storage is already a huge improvement.

The finished pantry is going to be worth the wait. 👀

Most people think the work is what delays a remodel… it’s usually the materials.

One of the best things you can do before demo day is have all your material selections finalized. For this master bathroom remodel, everything was selected ahead of time so it could be delivered right as demo wrapped up and we could keep the project moving.

No remodel ever goes exactly as planned, but having partners like helps with the things you can plan for, like scheduled jobsite delivery and same-day delivery when you need it.
If you’re planning a bathroom remodel, take advantage of The Home Depot’s jobsite delivery.

We gave this butler’s pantry a bold upgrade with Cottage Red by , and it completely transformed the space.

Watch the toilet water turn into Jell-O 👀

If you’re removing a toilet, this is one of those products that just makes the job easier. Pour in Oatey LiquiLock, wait about 5 minutes, and the water turns into a gel so you can pull the toilet without messing with a sponge or shop vac first.

And if you’re putting the same toilet back? Just flush it and the product safely washes away.

It costs around $3.50 per packet, so it’s an inexpensive way to save time and avoid the mess.

No sponge. No vacuum. Just pour and remove. 🙌🏼

When parenthood changes the plans…

I surprised my wife with tickets to see at Clemson as her first Mother’s Day gift. We were so excited but the thing is, Emi used to take bottles with no problem. But lately, she only wants to nurse, and despite all our efforts to make it work, the drive there and back, especially with nursing being the only thing that settles her at night, just made it impossible this time.

So instead of missing the concert completely, we brought the concert home. 🤠 Backyard lights, western vibes, good food, Morgan on the projector, and our favorite little third wheel right by our side.

This season of life doesn’t always go as planned, but somehow the unexpected moments end up being our favorites.
