Spring has me dreaming—and realizing the dream life isn’t grand or glamorous at all. It’s cinnamon rolls baking on Saturday mornings, fresh flowers in little vases, and breezy days in blue gingham, flowy sundresses, and delicate lace tops. It’s bookcases in every room, jazz in the kitchen, and laughter spilling through the house. Cuddles on plush sofas, Persian rugs underfoot, picture frames holding memories of a life well-lived. Guys, Mother’s Day is three weeks away and I have been putting this guide together with sooo much excitement because — can we just take a second? — moms are everything! The ones who showed up, stayed up, loved big and quietly and fiercely all at the same time. She deserves something really wonderful this year.

Whether she’s happiest in her garden with dirt on her hands, or she’s the one who sets the most gorgeous table, or she just wants a silk robe and a glass of champagne and absolutely zero interruptions — I have the perfect gifts for her!

Guys! I adore how lighting transforms our spaces with ambiance and interest! I wanted gourd lamps but the designer price tags for one started at $450 and went up to over $1000! I found a pair with the lampshades included for only $122 on amazon!!

Aren’t they soooo beautiful??!! Maybe I’ll get the blue ones for the bedroom!! 😇 😂 Don’t you love these, too??!!

Literally crying my eyes out. My husband got my desk back after I got a little too zealous about changing everything & gave it away almost a year ago.

A dear friend gave it to me when I was just starting my … well… everything… new business, new life, new home...

I thought I wanted something modern so I gave it away.

Ugh, the regret was real. The sentiment a bit annoying. “It’s just a THING. Get another one!! “ That’s what I tried to tell myself. But I sat crying one night because I felt like I’d lost something that just really mattered to me.

So my husband went hunting through texts and messages and begged the family who had come to get it to give it back.

The funny thing is that their little girl loved it but when she found out how much I missed it she wanted to give it back to me.

So, here she is. Like an old friend coming home. She’s got stickers, nail polish and the sweetest heart drawn on the bottom and I’ve never loved it or my husband more.

There is a great lesson that I’m learning… that a perfect home is one that’s full of imperfections- the humanness of a life well lived where the cushions are squished and the books are a bit askew, there’s warm cookies on a plate and flowers from the garden and pictures frames of the kids everywhere. That’s a home I can’t wait to wake up to… and a life worth sharing, too!

I hope in my own little way I encourage you on your journey to creating your little corner of the globe, to be open to trying things, but also to keeping things that really matter. And not everything that is lost is always gone for good, so if there’s something you need to fix, mend, bring back, or even move on from… do it. There’s a home and a life waiting for you on the other side!

A touch of blue?! Yessss!!!! This is the biggest change I’ve made to my home in YEARS and I FREAKING love the result!!

This Spring I decided to do something crazy…..I made BIG changes! It wasn’t about a color, it was about a life! I wanted to LIVE, to bake, to entertain, to laugh, to garden. So I brought in blue, bought new plants, started baking and it has been AMAZING!!!! It’s like floating in a beautiful fantasy world!

You are only going to get one life so why not live it with every drop of your heart, mind, body, and soul…. And a touch of blue!
