Bring Your Kid to Work Day - When you are me =)
I didn’t build this so I could “have it all.”
I built it so I wouldn’t have to compartmentalize my life - work over there, life over here.

I became a mom later in life, which means I already knew who I was when it happened. And, I already had a full work calendar.

Now my son comes to work with me, which, I have to say - is so cool. =)

He sits on apple boxes.
He knows what a umbrella light is.
He asks questions at moments that would absolutely ruin a vibe if they weren’t also very hilarious.

He also "helps me" in so many ways - See Exhibit A in this reel! Ha!

And instead of feeling pulled, I feel aligned.

Aligned that he sees me work.
Aligned that my career isn’t keeping me at a desk all the time.
Aligned that motherhood didn’t shrink my life. It finally let it breathe.

This wasn’t the timeline I imagined.
But it’s the one that feels honest.

And if the cost of doing work I love with the kid I waited for
is a few itchy tickles on my scalp mid-shoot?

Worth it!
