Some Top Backyard Safety Tips
1. Designate the barbecue / grill area a ‘no play zone’, keep children and pets away until the BBQ/grill and barbecue tools are completely cool.
2. Before using the BBQ, position it at least 1 metre away from other objects, including the house and any shrubs or bushes.
3. Check the gas cylinder to ensure the hose is tightly fitted to the outlet.
4. Never use a match or naked flame to check for leaks!
5. If a gas leak is detected, immediately turn off the supply of gas from the cylinder. Do not use the BBQ until the leak has been located and repaired.
6. Never bring a barbecue/grill indoors or into an unventilated place. This could be a fire or carbon monoxide poisoning hazard.
7. Always have an outdoor fire extinguisher close and handy.
