The Spotted Lantern Fly is invading New Jersey! This pest is known to feed on many types of trees and vines native to New Jersey, robbing them of their sap and leaving behind a honeydew that draws more harmful insects and promotes the growth of harmful mold that can kill the trees. Spotted lantern flies to lay eggs from September through December and these eggs hatch the following Spring. There is hope though! The tree that Spotted Lantern Flies are most attracted to is “Ailanthus” commonly known as “Tree of Heaven”, a rapid growing invasive tree in our area. By removing these trees during the Fall and Winter months we are greatly reducing the Spotted Lantern Fly food source while also removing the egg masses that will produce the next generation of Lantern Flies. To schedule a free consultation regarding the removal of these invasive trees to stop the rapid population growth of the Spotted Lantern Fly call 732-787-8118 today!
