I haven't publicized it too much (1 post in a local group & 1 big share - thanks Beth!), but if you didn't already know, I have started a handyman business (Auburn Handyman Service).
This has been a fun and productive way for me to stay busy and help people while today's higher interest rates have slowed down the buyer's side activity level of my investor focused Real Estate Brokerage. (Real estate rentals & sales are always going to be the foundation of my financial house, but I also have a lot of skills that I can put to good use while I'm waiting for rates to go back down.)
Anyway... I've been surprisingly busy for the first 8 weeks, actually. But I do have a few open spots this week and next week if anyone in the Auburn & Opelika area wants to get their house "holiday ready", or just has some lingering projects they want to get finished. I can help with inside or outside projects, and I've worked for homeowners, landlords, business owners and even other realtors! Yes, I am licensed, insured, and bonded. 🤓
1) EASY INSIDE STUFF:
Tightening /hanging towel bars & other bath hardware, fixing running toilets, or slow sink & shower drains, adjusting doors, cleaning dryer vents, changing k***s & locks, hanging pictures, hanging blinds, assembling furniture, unjamming garbage disposals, changing hard to reach air filters or chirping smoke detector batteries, adding (or changing) cabinet drawer k***s, and similar projects.
2) A LITTLE HARDER INSIDE STUFF:
Changing out microwaves, mounting mailboxes or flag poles, small painting projects, switching out appliances, replacing light fixtures, hanging fans, replacing garbage disposals, hanging TV's, replacing faulty GFCI's, fixing drippy faucets, installing grab bars in bathrooms or at your garage or porch steps, and more.
3) OUTSIDE WORK:
Cutting down small to medium trees or dead limbs, trimming or removing bushes, cutting limbs that are scraping your house or roof, removing satellite dishes, cleaning gutters, replacing rodent screens on foundation vents, and a few other random things.
