Hi Royal Fam! 👑
I am not sure how it’s taken us 2 years to write this post. If you’ve messaged us you already know… but, through the shutdowns resulting from the Covid-19 pandemic we were faced with a lot of tough conversations and uncertainty we never anticipated facing as a small business.
We feel very blessed that income continued to come in through 2020 & our family was spared having sparse months with no pay. When the 2 week stay at home orders were announced though, we lost the entire year of our customers overnight. By no fault of anyone, we looked at each other, devasted and exhausted and made some hard choices. We had taken out a small business loan just 2 months prior. We had a newborn baby and 3 other children. All the things. To say we felt immense amounts of pressure would be an understatement. Gratefully, we accepted the help of family & spent 2020 recovering and convalescing from our dream that now seemed dead.
When 2021 rolled around and jobs started coming our way we tried to accept a few, still wanting to keep hold of our dream of owning and running our own business together. Frankly, it was too much for our family. Levi was never home & it took a toll on our relationships in ways that are not negotiable for us.
So, we have officially closed our doors. We did not renew our licenses and bonds this year & our focus is now on different ventures. It’s a dream we let go of & will always be sad about, but we are just deeply grateful for our health & family & friends we have gained through this all. We are still paying off that darn loan & continue to look forward at what the future holds for our little family.
We are so thankful to all the friends, acquaintances, referrals that believed in us & took a chance in our skills. What we miss the most from painting full time is meeting so many deeply wonderful people. We had some really, really good times. 🎨
