To say that I'm behind is an understatement! I have posted an initial PDF version of our 2022 Price List to our website. I have some more changes to make to it, but it is a start. I also have numerous other edits to make to our website, and I will get them done.

60 bags x 3 cubic feet per bag = 180 cubic feet

1 cubic yard = 3 x 3 x 3 or 27 cubic feet

180 cubic feet (60 bags) / 27 cubic feet = 6.666,,, cubic yards

Yes it was worth it yesterday! All that is left in the truck today are the 60 empty bags. I am a tired daylily farmer!

Have you ever wondered if a 2004 Ford F150 would hold 6.66 cubic yards of pine bark? Have you ever asked, even if it would hold it, should you do so? The answer to the first question is yes it will hold that much mulch. The answer to the second question is still up for debate. Have a blessed day!

We hope that everyone had a joyous Christmas! We wish you peace and prosperity in the new year. Yes we realize that we are a daylily farm but we don’t have any daylilies blooming. Believe it or not these two iris are still blooming on 2 January 2022. Enjoy!

Someone should have told this poor iris that it was going to be 29° this morning. Probably the last one we will see until next year! Hope everyone that takes the time to look at our page has a happy and joyous Thanksgiving!

It has only been a week since we said goodbye to Chloe. She liked to walk about and sniff everywhere in "Opa's Garden". A heavy rain washed away her little footprints but the footprints that she left on our hearts will never go away. The house and the garden are much emptier without her!

It is time again for Shaw’s Sunshine Gardens to offer its 50 percent off sale. The sale this year will run from September 1 through September 30, 2021. If we have it in stock, it is yours for 50 percent off our normal list price. We will still ensure that you receive at least a double fan of each plant purchased. If it is something that we can be generous with we will be. Some plants are extremely limited. Please e-mail or call in your requests. Let us be sure and confirm the availability before you send in your order and payment. This sale is good for both mail and in garden orders. We will not be giving any bonus plants with the 50 percent off sale. The sale only applies to new orders. The sale will end on September 30, no exceptions will be made. We will be accepting PayPal and credit cards, but we will ask that you allow us to include 4% on your order to cover the cost to us for processing the payment. Our "movie stars" are still available at $20.00 for the entire plant. Unfortunately, the "movie stars" are only available in the garden. Please let us help you with your daylily “needs”.
