We turned this back entrance area into a functional little greenhouse! 🌿

We installed two thermostatically controlled greenhouse heaters to help keep the temperature consistent, and we were able to give the client’s antique wood-framed windows a new purpose. We added handles, latches, and hook-and-eye locks so the windows can easily be opened for ventilation when needed.

A great mix of practical upgrades, reused materials, and a little extra growing space right at home!

A busy day at Double J! 🔨

We kicked off the day making great progress on our latest deck project, then spent the afternoon putting the finishing touches on another deck we started a couple weeks ago (this one was delayed a bit as we were waiting on supplies)

One deck underway, another one wrapped up — we’d call that a pretty productive day! 💪🏼

Next up! 🔨

This old deck has put in its time… now it’s ready for retirement.

We’ll be tearing it out and replacing it with a bigger, covered deck made for more room, more shade, and a whole lot more Montana livin’.

Stay tuned — this one’s gonna be a good transformation!

A little finish work on the new windows today — trimwork on the inside and fresh chinking around the exterior to get everything sealed up tight and looking sharp. 🔨🪵

This log cabin got some much-needed TLC. 🤩🪵

We removed the rotten logs and replaced them with dead-standing timber we harvested ourselves, ensuring the wood was dry and ready to use. Each replacement log was carefully handcrafted and fitted into place, with attention paid to preserving the character and craftsmanship of the cabin.

We also:
• Removed and replaced a support log on the deck
• Sanded the deck and gave it a fresh coat of Australian Timber Oil
• Sealed and chinked each new log before applying fresh stain
• Gave the log storage shed the same restoration treatment
• Re-chinked areas inside the cabin where needed

There’s something pretty satisfying about giving an old log cabin new life while keeping its original rustic character intact.

Now it’s sealed, protected, and ready to stand up to the Montana weather for years to come. 💪🏻🏔️

A big refresh for this beautiful log home! 🪵🏡

• Removed and replaced 14 windows, including proper installation, sealing, and finishing.
• Repaired and restored chinking throughout the exterior of the home.
• Ground out rotted and deteriorated areas of the logs to remove damaged material and help prevent further decay.
• Prepped and stained the entire exterior, giving the logs fresh protection and bringing this home back to life.

A lot of work went into this one, but there’s nothing quite like seeing a log home protected and looking beautiful!

1,100 sq. ft. of new laminate flooring and 300 feet of fresh trim throughout this home — and what a difference!

Clean, fresh, and looking sharp from room to room. 🔨🏡
