People really can get to me sometimes. Thank God for understanding me and knowing that I'm not perfect but I have the best intentions and I'm not out to hurt or take advantage of anyone. .
Last month, a well known distributor donated a gate to help us raise funds for the charity work we do. And upon reading that article a man sent me a text saying he had some fence materials I could have out by the road. We were excited and drove an hour to realize it wasn't yet taken down. And it had a good bit of terminal poamsts for 4 gate panels and 8 ends and corners and was in thomson hard clay.. We hopped right on it in 105 heat index weather. We dug up every last terminal by Hand , took down a hundred feet of wire , and cut down 2 bushes/trees and dug up 4 line posts. We'd already drank our Gatorade the first 2 hours so by hour 3 we were thirsty. We do this by the way for no cost.
I asked the man at the beginning of the demo if t was alright to leave the center in the ground if we were able to bust it off intoa hole we hand dug beside each posts. This is one way we are able to do these demos for free. We limit ourselves on costly equipment. He said that was fine it didn't matter about anything being in the ground. We asked because we knew more than likely he was getting a wooden fence in replacement but the average fence company charges about $3 per foot and this was 300 feet so we were saving him $1000 give or take $100.
We worked 6 hours the first day from the time we left until we returned. We try to pay ourselves a decent wage and reimburse ourselves for things like the hundreds of dollars of paint and Sand paper,gloves, gas, reciprocating saw, pliers, cleaner, rags, rust preventer. ..it all adds up quickly. Plus truck maintenance , we have a 2004 dodge ram that has about 350000 miles and thank God for Vince dad and step mom, on this job they loaned us their truck.
The second day it Rained. The third day we dug up 3 more posts and cut down more trees and at the end the man left again without even offering a bit of help or water and Vince said will it be OK for him to cut down some posts below ground level. I said sure as long as it's not visible. He Said he didn't mind if we left concrete in the ground. 6 inches of a pit below ground level should be fine. Out of 40 posts, 12 being terminals we cut down 4 posts. Well the next day was Sunday and then Vince had to work so I asked the Kan would Saturday as an be OK he said sure whenever we could, but in Tuesday he was mad we hadn't finished. I reminded him we just do this when we are off. we have to work at real paying jobs because we go weeks sometimes without a sale. The MAn acted like he understood still not eve offering gas money, which is ok. We honestly don't mind that part. But then he texts to tell me how wrong we were to leave 4 the posts in the ground. And I was hot from working on restoring the materials we had already taken down for him and I ated horribly. I wasn't kind at all. I blew a fuse. And when he said he would've rather paid someone to do a better job, I Lost it even more.
I'm writing this post to him to apologize greatly. I should have apologized immediately and told him I would be there asap to dig the rest up. And I should've hired someone to take Vinces place. He already works hard with my brother building new fences through the week. I messed up. And I want to blame the heat but it's not the weather it's me. I'm terrible. I get so arrogant and I just don't act like I should. And I've got to call My father in law now and. Apologize for not coming down the hill t see him and Ms Carol yesterday when they brought me a reward for selling their golf cart. It was the least I could do for all their help and support. I need prayers. Lots of them. Because Vince and I keep fighting too . Everyday and it's my fault I promise because I can't let the past go. And I want all the credit for the sales I do make when I sure asheck couldn't take the fences down all alone. Please pray for me. And I Don't have the Man's name that I was rude to . The Last I heard from him was whe I offered t get him another lawn mower if we messed his up and he just said it wasn't broken and.to stay off his property. .if anyone knows of a child in need of a secured Play area there's a 16ft black vinyl double drive and wire and posts they can have ...they'll just need sand it and recoat it because only the wire is black vinyl. Thetotal, andpost anfgate frames are all painted aandthey wete painted white and then black so it looks kinda like someone ate penguine pie ad puked it up. I put a coat of black rust preventer on it but it really needs to be sanded ,especially the gate,
