Subcontractor Opportunity: Independent Door Installation Specialist
Whalen’s Construction is currently seeking experienced 1099 Independent Contractors to handle residential door installations originating out of the Albert Lea and Mankato, MN Home Depot locations. We provide a steady volume of work with competitive percentage-based pay per completed project.
Scope of Work
Primary installations include interior, exterior entry, patio, and storm doors.
Perform accurate job site measurements, site prep, structural framing minor touch-ups, hardware placement, and finish trim work.
Maintain complete end-to-end management of assigned jobs, including direct scheduling with customers and timely completion.
Position Requirements
Trade Experience: Proven track record with interior, exterior, patio, and storm door installations.
Certifications: Must hold a valid EPA Lead-Safe Certified Renovator certification.
Equipment & Transportation: Reliable work vehicle (truck, van, or trailer) equipped to haul doors and all necessary installation tools.
Professional Standards: Strong organizational skills, keen attention to detail, and top-tier customer service skills when representing our business in clients' homes.
Business Documentation: Valid driver's license, active liability insurance, and standard 1099 tax documentation.
Pay & Schedule
Compensation: Percentage-based pay per installed door/unit.
Type: 1099 Subcontractor status.
Service Area: Albert Lea to Mankato region.
