Picked up this incredible mid-century handmade folk art clown at the USA Doll Show this past weekend.

He was born during the 1940s/1950s. That painted smile definitely whispers secrets when the lights go out, but I love him anyway. Perfectly weird, perfectly vintage.

Dapper, darling, and ready for tea! 🫖This vintage Japanese lusterware seal is giving us all the mid-century whimsy today. Between the tiny top hat and that bright blue bow tie, he’s easily the best dressed piece on the shelf.
Items like these were often used as
“Whistle for Milk” mugs to encourage kids to finish their drinks, though I think he’s perfectly happy just looking fabulous.
