Great conversations and new opportunities at the City of Austin Meet the Prime – Vertical & Horizontal Construction event!

I enjoyed connecting with SpawGlass and learning more about their Building Services Division, which focuses on smaller contracts. Their work aligns well with the services my firm provides, including custom millwork, cabinetry, countertops, and window coverings.

I was also excited to discover that I made the cover of Austin Small and Minority Business Resources brochure recognizing businesses certified with the City of Austin as Minority-Owned, Woman-Owned, and Small Business Enterprises. It's an honor to be featured and to be part of such a supportive business community.

A special thank you to Eddie Bynog Jr., Catherine Sak, and Felecia Shaw, for your continued dedication to supporting and empowering small businesses. Your efforts make a meaningful impact!

Attended the TFC Vendor Expo and had a great opportunity to network, strengthen relationships with prime contractors, and explore upcoming project opportunities.

I’m a strong advocate for showing up to outreach events, sharing capability statements, and having meaningful conversations with primes about future work. These events are more than just networking opportunities—they’re a chance to put a face to your company, reinforce your capabilities, and remind people who you are and what you do.

One of the highlights of the event was connecting with the Senior Project Manager for a project I recently bid. I was excited to learn that I’ve been invited to a post-bid interview next week—a promising step toward a potential contract award.

It’s always rewarding to reconnect with familiar faces while building new relationships that can lead to future partnerships and opportunities.

Success in business development starts with visibility, consistency, and relationships. Keep showing up.

I tout the benefits of being a minority-owned/woman-owned business through the ASMBR & thankful for the opportunities it brings.

It takes grit to take on commercial construction projects & I'm happy w/the personal & businesses development, growth in revenue & position to scale.

Grateful to the Asian Contractor Association for hosting such a meaningful networking event focused on certification with the City of Austin. The Austin Small and Minority Business Resources team shared valuable guidance on how to become certified or recertified as an MBE, WBE, or SBE—creating greater access and opportunity for small businesses.

I was honored to be invited to speak about how these certifications have positively impacted my business, leading to increased revenue and new opportunities. It was especially rewarding to showcase completed City of Austin projects as part of that journey.

I hope my experience encourages other small business owners to explore whether certification is the right fit for their company and to take advantage of the many informative sessions offered by ASMBR.

Excited to share completion photos of two more City of Austin projects—Northwest Pool and Montopolis Pool! 💦

As a trade partner with Flintco Construction, I provided the millwork (custom cabinets) at the lifeguard station, along with countertops and benches throughout.😎

Grateful to collaborate with such a great team at Flintco.🙌

Thrilled to share the completion photos of a 4,800 sq. ft. Resource Center in South Austin! ✨

I collaborated closely with the director and GC on all finish selections—from flooring, tile, and stone to cabinetry, countertops, doors, and paint colors.

So excited for this beautiful new space and the tenants and clients it will serve!

I'm thrilled to reflect on this week of gratitude and celebrate the incredible support received through the Small Business Impact Program (SBIP) at The Brumley Institute for Graduate Entrepreneurship at UT McCombs School of Business. This transformative program provides business education and human resources to help small businesses execute their growth plans through high-impact workshops, networking opportunities, and 1:1 mentorship.

My sincere appreciation goes to Christy Grady, Iman Mary Grace Granito, Iman Salafian, and Mellie Price for their outstanding leadership, dedication, and program administration. Their commitment to small business success has been instrumental.

Shoutout to Wells Fargo Christopher Rios for their generous support of this program.

The cohort comprised of 20 small businesses has been fortunate to learn from exceptional industry experts who shared invaluable insights across goal setting, marketing, finance, and operations: Cristina Siligardi, Chris Aarons, Bart Bohn, and Holly Tachovsky. Their expertise has been truly game-changing.

A particular highlight has been working with CFO mentor Barbara Daniels, whose guidance, financial expertise, and custom worksheets have brought tremendous clarity to my cash flow projections and financial planning.

I'm also grateful to student assistant Dilan Patel for his excellent support with contract documents, marketing initiatives, and social media content creation.

Finally, I'm thrilled to be joined in this cohort by fellow Greater Austin Asian Chamber of Commerce members Emlyn Lee, Kimberley Chung, and Dan Castro. And, networking w/ Kerri McDonald, Vanguard Roofing & Ai Vuong to name a few.

I'm excited to share a business spotlight that showcases the program's impact and the tremendous value of this collaboration. The BIG-E BEAT: November Newsletter
