Hi there! I’ve been busy at work, which means not much time for posting to the socials. I thought I’d share some progress from my most recent work. I love the work I do because every job is different, and projects often evolve as we get into the nitty gritty details. The overall plan for this job is to declutter and help prepare for a major home renovation and short term relocation. In the process, I got deep into their photo and scrapbook collections, and it took me straight back to grad school, where I worked with a number of different photo collections. 🎞️📷📂
We’ve sorted through over 100 years of scrapbooks. The sweet couple I work with knows they don’t want to pass all their memorabilia on to their children, but it’s painful to toss things that have such cherished memories. I contacted a historical society where they grew up in west Texas, which was happy to accept any and all family memorabilia. We also arranged a fun viewing party for their family over Thanksgiving, where the kids could have some input in what to do with some of the photos. They claimed some for themselves and decided what might be good to toss or to digitize. 📚🤳🗂️
This type of work is detailed and tedious, but it is my jam. I’m grateful for this work. I’ll be in the thick of it in the short term, but keep me in mind for any similar projects for your families in the future. 📲
