June 2025 marks the 11 year anniversary of Davey McEathron Architecture — a milestone that feels both surreal and incredibly grounding. And while the firm carries my name, the success of this firm has always been a collective effort. From day one, our success is owed to the people who have contributed their heart, talent, tears, and creativity to every project.
From the early days, having a team of 6 working out of our converted garage, to building an office and growing to a team of 13, the goal was always to create exciting and creative architecture, and have a great time doing it.
Over the last year we’ve intentionally pared back to a focused duo: just Rebecca and myself. This shift has allowed us to dive deeper into bespoke projects and collaborative work that gets our hands and faces dirty and our creative juices juicy.
In celebration, this post highlights some projects from our first year as an architecture office — and it’s wild how much of our original design language still shines through: handcrafted details, natural materials, and bold use of color (especially blue, always blue 💙).
Thank you to everyone who’s been a part of this story. Here’s to the next chapter — a little scrappier, a little bolder, and just as full of heart.
