This waterside pavilion was designed for a client wanting a protected area for entertaining and enjoying the Bainbridge Island shoreline. The shell is board-formed concrete, the interior is wrapped in cedar paneling, and the copper clad sliding doors open to the water and views of Seattle.

This project was designed and built for a young family of five, on an island site tucked into a mature native forest. The goal was to capture and maximize as much natural light as possible while maintaining most of the significant trees and vegetation. The result is a fresh, bright and fun home with beautiful views out into the woodlands.

We are excited to share schematic ideas for a project on a challenging site on Bainbridge. The constrained lot is approached as an opportunity to feature a dynamic design that captures plenty of northwest natural light and provides spectacular views of Mt. Rainier and the Seattle skyline. The two story home’s footprint is just 16 ft. wide by 48 ft. long, and will include a covered breezeway between a 16 ft. by 28 ft. garage with an office and guest studio above.

“The water delivery is just awesome”, says a co-worker about the High Sierra shower head. Quality brass and stainless steel, made in the US, plenty of pressure and saves 40% water. It feels like a lot more water than a typical low-flow. The key difference is having one burst of water that sprays large, soft droplets rather than forcing the water through a bunch of tiny holes. It’s an inventive water-wise design that creates the right flow.

Pictured here is the ‘Tenaya’ brushed nickel series, which included a 5” translucent, smoke-colored face. Ordering the face is key to having it look right in a residential bath. The 1.5 gpm is plenty of water, and is quieter than the 1.8.
