Commercial complex in Ottawa, KS is officially Kodiak Protected. This project included approximately 585 feet of 6’ Western Red Cedar Picture Frame privacy fencing, bringing together privacy, a fresh new feel to the complex, and a clean finished look that fits the property beautifully. From custom gates to the finishing touches.
As the guys we’re building and picking through the lumber, there was an abnormal amount of boards that weren’t in the best condition. Our GM made a trip to the site and went through the remaining bunk of lumber and we ended up cutting out some boards we had put up, taking back a load of lumber to replace with better boards.
Guys on site got the new lumber and continued to build, as they did their best to pick through the wood once again, the customer was not satisfied with the quality of the boards. We sent our GM back out to take a look and he agreed on a lot of boards throughout the project we’re not up to standard. Therefore, GM and the guys went back through and cut out the boards the customer was not satisfied with and replaced them with new lumber from a completely different source as it was clear our normal supplier was giving us the last of their stock and were not getting a fresh shipment until the following week.
But! After battling the weather conditions, multiple trips to get the lumber up to standard, cutting out a large handful caps and rails the customer and Kodiak was not happy with, the job was completed and the owner of the complex was pleased with our ability and willingness to completely swap and replace wood that would lead to a turn out as seen in these pictures above!
