Real talk about exotic hardwood floors…👀

A lot of people fall in love with the rich color of Brazilian Cherry, Kempas, and other exotic woods… 🤎

But here’s what most don’t know:

That color changes over time from sunlight ☀️
and with many exotic species, it goes all the way through the wood.

Sanding won’t fully bring that original color back.

Domestic hardwoods like oak or maple are usually more forgiving, which is why this is something I always talk through with homeowners before they decide.

Exotics can look amazing… just important to understand how they age 🧠

This staircase used to be covered in carpet.

And hey, nothing wrong with carpet. It’s cozy, it’s safe, it’s classic.

But the moment we installed hardwood?
