Shoutout to three of our Gradeline crew: Perri, Justin, and Maddie, for representing us at the Maryland Asphalt Association's 9th Annual Scholarship Blast! 🎯

Over 70 sporting clay enthusiasts hit the range for a fantastic day supporting the Frank P. Scrivener Memorial Scholarship Fund, which helps fund a Civil Engineering student at the University of Maryland. Great weather, great people, and a great cause, what more could you ask for?

And a HUGE congratulations to our own Justin Holden, who placed in Lewis Class #3! Way to go, Justin! 🏆

These three are a perfect example of what the Gradeline team is all about......working hard Monday through Friday and bringing that same energy and heart to everything outside the job site too. Work hard, play hard, that's how we roll! 💪

🏃‍♂️🏃‍♀️ This past weekend, two members of the Gradeline family laced up and took on The Crusher Run, the 4th Annual Texas Quarry 5K in Cockeysville, MD! Cory and Perri represented Gradeline Construction with pride, running the perimeter of a working limestone quarry for a cause that hits close to home in our industry.

We're also proud to share that Gradeline made a donation to Construction Angels, a nonprofit that provides financial assistance to families of construction workers who have lost their lives on the job. It's a mission we believe in wholeheartedly. 💛

Proud of these two for showing up, putting in the miles, and carrying the Gradeline name across that finish line. Way to go, Cory and Perri! 👏

Gradeline Construction was a proud sponsor of the 2nd Annual Golf Tournament, co-hosted by the Maryland Asphalt Association and Maryland Women of Asphalt. Cory Freeman and Debi Freeman repped Gradeline, and Debi brought home the Women's Closest-to-the-Pin award! 🏆 So proud of you, Debi!

🌙 When the sun goes down, Gradeline gets to work.

Some of our most important jobs happen after hours, and our Roadtec RX600 milling machine doesn't care what time it is.

Earlier this winter, we completed trench patching along a utility corridor where a new gas line had been installed. Now that nighttime temps are consistently holding above 50°F, we're back to finish the job right. Milling out 1.5 inches of existing asphalt and laying a fresh surface overlay.

That's the Gradeline process: we don't just patch and move on. We come back, we mill it clean, and we pave it properly.

🚛 New iron on the job. Meet the latest additions to the Gradeline fleet — a 2026 Mack Granite GR84F rolloff truck and a 2026 Landoll 440B 40-ton traveling axle trailer.

The rolloff handles the heavy stuff: trash, broken concrete, asphalt, and millings. The Landoll moves our milling machines, pavers, and skid steers where they need to be.

Winter was rough on our roads and parking lots this year, and not all of the damage is visible from the surface. 🚧

When snow and ice aren't cleared quickly, they compact into any weak spots in the pavement. Add extreme cold temperatures on top of that and water starts working its way into cracks, freezing, expanding, and pushing deeper into the base layer. By the time you see a major problem, it's often been building for a while underneath.

We sat down with our General Manager Mike Harp to talk about what this winter really did to pavement in our region and what property owners and managers should be doing about it now that spring is here.
