I'm back! After the roller coaster of life settled down, I decided to pick up where I left off. Here is a little TBT! A birthday cake that my friend & I made for one of our BFF's birthday's. Inspiration for the cake came from a Dia de Los mu***os tatt that my friend has and our hometown of B-more (hence the Natty Bo & Utz girl romance going on). This cake is rated R for adult content. What do you think? A little crazy?

A special flag cake for the patriot in us all! Perfect for 4th of July celebrations, home-comings to honor U.S. troops, or the inner patriot! This version is pareve (no dairy ingredients) and is spectacular as is, however the dairy version is simply divine. What you see here is a homemade vanilla cream cake with homemade cream cheese frosting topped with the freshest red rasberries and baby-blues!

Spiced Challah French Toast:

Ingredients:
1. Approximately 4 challah rolls
2. 3 eggs
3. 1/4 cup of milk (whole milk provides a richer flavor, however I often choose to use skim milk as a lower-fat alternative)
4. 1/3 cup of brown sugar
5. Dash of cinnamon to taste (2-3 teaspoons)
6. Sprinkle of ground cloves (1 teaspoon)
7. Sprinkle or two of nutmeg (1-2 teaspoons)
8. 1 and a half tablespoons of pure vanilla extract (do not use the imitation vanilla, pure vanilla gives it a more delicious and natural flavor).

Steps:

1. Melt a tablespoon or two of butter, or margarin on a skillet or pan.

2. Cut the challah rolls into four pieces using the ends of the challah bread as well.

3. Prepare egg wash mixture (mix 3 eggs, milk, sugar, spices, and vanilla rigorously by hand or using a mixer).

4. Dip the challah pieces in the egg wash mixture to coat both sides (do not soak the challah bread in the mixture).

5. Place approximately four pieces of the dipped challah bread into your pan or skillet of your choice.

6. Flip the challah several times to cook the pieces evenly and cook untill the tops form a golden-to-dark brown, crispy coat.

7. Eat and enjoy! Don't forget to share! ;)
