It’s hat day in the shop! Who needs some Richardsons ?

Can I get just a little real and raw here with yall?

Tonight, I locked the doors of the shop feeling a whole lot of things. ❤️ Exhausted. Proud. Grateful. Emotional.

Friday afternoon, after 5:00, I started working on one HUGE order. I say I because I hate asking my team to come in on a weekend. I believe family is always first so I decided to dig in myself.

56 hours later…✅

Let me add a little shout out here: I was never so happy to have my friend Sabrina come hang out a little with me on Sat while I worked and the happiness when my team walked back in on Monday was what I would expect someone feels when their loved one has been gone for months and arrives at the airport 😂😂 insert the TikTok of the family running to greet their military family here! 😂😂 (they know I love and appreciate them so much every day)

Every T-shirt, hoodie, long sleeve shirt, stocking hat, and everything in between has been counted, completed, folded, and boxed.

And y’all… I AM TIRED. 😂
But tonight, the exhaustion comes with feelings that’s hard to put into words.

Pride in the work, Gratitude for the opportunity to do something I love, Thankfulness for the endurance to get it done, Success, Celebration…all to the Glory of God!!

Running a small business isn’t always pretty. Sometimes it’s late nights, early mornings, missed meals, and pushing through when your body is begging you to stop.

But then you stand back, look at everything you’ve accomplished and you know how much your customer is going to LOVE it all. The look on their face makes it all worth it. When you are out and about and you see someone wearing what you literally made, IT MAKES IT ALL WORTH IT. To a lot of people it’s “just a shirt”. To me, it’s a hand made custom item I put so much detail into. It’s personal on a way different level.

And to the customer who trusted us with this order… THANK YOU a MILLION TIMES OVER. ❤️

Thank you for your patience, your understanding, and for choosing our little business to bring your vision to life. I know you had choices, and I don’t take it lightly that you chose us.

I am SO excited for you to see everything finished! I hope you love every single piece as much as we loved bringing it all together.

Tonight, we closed the doors with tired feet, a grateful heart, and a whole lot of feeling proud of what we do.

Behind every order is a small business owner who knows just how BIG that opportunity really is and all of the feelings that come with it. And for that, I am truly thankful. ❤️

LET’S TALK ABOUT YOUR LOGO!

Yesterday, I was having a conversation with a customer about business logos, and I explained something that I think EVERY business owner needs to think about!

Your logo doesn’t need to tell people everything you do. It needs to make people remember WHO YOU ARE!

Think about this for a minute…

🐔 Chick-fil-A

🥩 LongHorn Steakhouse house

⭐ Hardee’s

🍔 McDonald’s

When you see their logos, you immediately recognize the business and know who they are!

They don’t need a bunch of tiny details, 15 different fonts, a ChatGPT image, or a picture of every product they sell.

They have built a BRAND that people recognize!

And THAT is what you should be thinking about when creating your business logo!

Now, let me explain something from the perspective of someone who works with logos EVERY SINGLE DAY!

I have customers bring me some absolutely beautiful logos. They look amazing on a computer screen, a business card, or even printed on a T-shirt.

BUT THEN…

They want that same logo embroidered on a hat, stitched on a polo, made into a leather patch, or engraved on a tumbler.

And suddenly, all those beautiful little details become a BIG problem!

The lettering is too small. The lines are too thin. There are too many colors. The design is too complicated to reproduce at a smaller size.

Here’s what I want you to think about BEFORE designing your logo:

✔️ Will someone recognize my business just by seeing my logo?

✔️ Can my logo be embroidered on a hat without losing its details?

✔️ Will it look just as good in ONE color as it does in five?

✔️ Can it be used on shirts, hats, patches, signs, cups, and promotional products?

✔️ If I remove all the extra details, is my brand STILL recognizable?

And here’s something else…

You can have more than ONE version of your logo! I would have one huge part that can be the same in all areas of your logo.

You can have your full business logo for signs and advertising, a simplified version for embroidery, and a recognizable symbol or monogram for smaller items.

The key is making sure they ALL represent the SAME BRAND!

💡 Remember this:

A logo is not supposed to be a picture of everything your business does. It’s supposed to be the symbol people associate with your business!

McDonald’s doesn’t have to put a hamburger, french fries, milkshake, and chicken nuggets in its logo.

Those golden arches say it ALL!

STOP TRYING TO FIT YOUR ENTIRE BUSINESS INTO YOUR LOGO!

Keep it clean. Keep it recognizable. Keep it versatile. Keep it recognizable.

Because a GREAT logo isn’t just something that looks good today.

It’s something people will recognize YEARS from now! Think BIG! Dream BIG!
