I’m looking for 3–5 real-world problems to solve.

Not signs. Not toys. Not random trinkets.

I’m talking about those annoying little problems at work, in the shop, on the boat, in the garage, on the farm, or around your business where you’ve said:

“I wish somebody made something for this.”

Maybe you need a custom:

• Tool holder
• Jig or drilling guide
• Bracket or mount
• Replacement plastic part
• Organizer or tray
• Vial/sample holder
• Hose or cable holder

That is exactly what I’m looking for.

I own Stillwater Forge, and I’m expanding the custom design and problem-solving side of the business.

Right now, I’m choosing 3–5 problems that I think I can realistically solve using CAD design and 3D printing.

For the problems I select, I’ll design and make the first prototype at no charge.

I’m doing this because I want real problems to work on, real-world feedback, and strong examples of the kind of custom solutions Stillwater Forge can provide.

You do not need to know anything about 3D printing.

You just need to have a problem.

I’m looking for a few people who have a real problem that could potentially be solved with a custom 3D-printed part.

I’m opening up 3–5 free prototype spots through Stillwater Forge.

This is NOT for random toys, dragons, decorations, or giant novelty prints. I’m specifically looking for useful, functional projects such as:

- Custom holders, mounts, brackets, or organizers
- Shop or garage problem-solving parts
- Tool or battery holders
- Vehicle/work-truck organizers or mounts
- Small business countertop or workspace organizers
- Replacement plastic parts that are hard to find
- Jigs or fixtures that make a repetitive task easier
- Other practical problems where a custom-designed part could help

How it will work

If you’re interested, send me a message with a clear explanation of the problem you’re trying to solve.

Please include:

- What the problem is
- What you want the finished part to accomplish
- Where/how it will be used
- Approximate size or dimensions if you know them
- Pictures of the area, broken part, tool, equipment, space, or setup whenever possible

The more clearly you explain the problem, the easier it is for me to determine whether it’s something I can realistically design and print.

I’ll review the submissions and choose 3–5 projects based on usefulness, complexity, material requirements, design time, and whether the project is a good fit for Stillwater Forge.

You do not need to keep messaging me for updates. If your project is selected, I’ll contact you directly and we’ll work out the measurements and remaining details from there.

If selected, I’ll handle the design and printing at no charge within a reasonable scope.

What I’m asking in return is simple: actually use the finished part and give me honest feedback. If it works well for you, I’d also appreciate an honest review/recommendation on the Stillwater Forge page and, if possible, a photo of it being used.

There is no requirement to leave a positive review. I want real feedback so I can improve the products and figure out which types of custom fabrication are worth offering more regularly.

Custom laser-engraved EVA boat flooring coming together for a duck hunting build. The center layout was designed with the ducks getting progressively farther away through the floor, tying into the retriever and wood duck artwork. Really liking how this one is turning out so far. More to come once the rest is finished.
