Oof. This is a tough one to post but i'll try to get through it.

When i started this business, from nothing, i swore i would beat statistics and make the 5 year mark. We met that goal thanks to some amazing customers and an awesome team. Some know that there were some major changes in our lives that happened over the off season that have unfortunately led to me having to make this very hard decision. First, i want to thank all of my customers for showing me so much support and gratitude over these last 5 years. I thoroughly enjoyed seeing the smiles as a result of our work.

Second, i want to thank my amazing team. Matt, Nick, and Tyler. You guys were the backbone of this business and absolutely spoiled me as a "boss". I could not have asked for a better crew.

Lastly, to my wife Jess. Not only did you run my social media and make that better than i ever could. You kept my head on straight. Made sure i got back to customers with quotes. And kept our household running even without knowing what time i would be home.

In conclusion, it has been a GREAT run but unfortunately i have to close this chapter in my life and move on. As of today. 3/30/2023 Fick's Lawncare And Property Maintenance is CLOSED.

As we enter our 3rd week of the heat wave/drought without any sign of legitimate rain in the forecast, we would like to offer a few tips.

Sprinklers: lawn sprinklers are a great way to keep your lawn healthy. To maximize your water usage we suggest using a hose timer and setting it to start at sundown. An hour or 2 per section of lawn each night will drastically save even the driest lawns. Watering during the day is a no no because you lose more water to evaporation than what soaks into the ground.

Mowing: during high heat, the shorter you cut your grass, the higher the chances of "burnout". Or killing it. During this time of year, we would rather allow your lawn a little extra length to hold what moisture it can.

Plants/Shrubs: a great way to save water and save your garden is to transfer bath water or dish water into a bucket and pour that on your plants or garden. The little bit of soap will not harm them and they will love the oppertunity for a drink in this heat.

Pro tip: once cut, a blade of grass loses 60% of its water content. Thats not good at all this time of year.
