What's blooming this week? Gotta love those rebloomers.

In our zone 6a, the predicted first frost date is October 15... I said no more pollinating after September 1 so my pods would wrap up in development. BUT then the first time for me bloomers, and the rebloomers and the new information when you find out a seedling is a bud builder so you want to cross in a new direction! Ahhhhhhh!

I *KNEW* IT! So some hybridizers working with cristates have theorized that heavily pleated or any form that produces excess petaloid tissue is how cristates may have developed. I don't know but I have been told that my best chance of getting cristate seedlings is to have both pod and pollen parents be cristated. THAT is a challenge as even after three years, my cristate candidates as pod parents are mostly one to four fans.... šŸ˜”. So....I also put cristate pollen on those that have this petaloid tissue or which have thrown out a cristated flower once in a while because I have clumps of those! Pink Nouveau, Dan Hansen's, 2018, just produced this today! Guess what pollen it got?
