What if the rarest, most ecologically valuable plants in Texas were available right here in Bay City at affordable prices?

That’s the vision.

Yesterday, I took the first step toward making Lone Star Gardens THE boutique garden center destination for Texas native and nativar plants. I had the opportunity to visit with Angie at Inevitable Technologies, a REMARKABLE, state of the art facility dedicated to growing native plants that support pollinators, wildlife, and healthy ecosystems.

Our goal is simple: bring you the plants that thrive in Texas but are nearly impossible to find in traditional garden centers.

And yes… that will include EIGHT different species of Texas native milkweed. 🌿🦋

From butterfly favorites to rare natives that deserve a place in every Texas landscape, we’re building something special. Not just another plant selection. A collection curated specifically for Texas gardeners who want beauty, resilience, and purpose.

This is only the beginning.

🌻 Some days you learn from books. Other days you learn from people who have spent a lifetime growing beautiful flowers.

One of the highlights of our trip to the Texas Hill Country was visiting Arnosky Family Farms and meeting Mr. Arnosky. His knowledge of Texas wildflowers and specialty cut flowers is incredible, but what stood out even more was his generosity in sharing it.

Thank you, Mr. Arnosky, for your hospitality, your beautiful farm, and for taking the time to share your experience and wisdom.

Lavender dreams are taking root. 💜

Spending the day surrounded by rows and rows of lavender, soaking up everything I can about growing it successfully in our climate. There’s something special about learning from the best so we can bring the very best home to Bay City.

🌶️ Pepper lovers — we need your input! 🌶️

We’re thinking about ordering some rare, ultra hot, and unique pepper plants for summer, but we want to know what y’all would actually be interested in before we bring them in.

Peppers are a great choice for this time of year because they love the summer heat and can keep producing when a lot of other plants start slowing down. ☀️🔥
